    Bourne Westfield welcomed Jane Clare and James Thompson from the Co-op store at Elsea Park on Monday to a special Key Stage 2 assembly to mark Fairtrade Fortnight.

    Prize winners from a recent Year 4 ‘Trouser Design Competition’ were announced last Friday in assembly. The competition was to design a pair of trousers for Bourne Westfield’s Golf teacher Darren Game to wear in lessons.


  • Bags of Help from Tesco

    Bourne Westfield is bidding to bag a massive cash boost from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative. Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its community funding scheme, which sees grants of up to £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 raised from carrier bag sales in Tesco stores awarded to local community projects.


  • Breaking Ground

    Work has started in earnest on the building or our new school nursery and wrap around care provision. Over the half term the foundations for the new 52 place nursery were laid. The building, was designed by YMD Boon and will provide a state of the art provision for our children. A large open plan building with its own kitchen area and outside play area will provide the ideal conditions for our youngest children to begin their school learning journey.

  • Supporting Bourne Rotary Club

    Local primary schools were invited to attend the first charity golf festival at Toft Hotel Golf Club with PGA Professional Darren Game.  Four schools participated with teams of six pupils, a boy and girl each from years 4 to 6. 

  • Introducing Bikeability Balance

    Bourne Westfield was delighted to welcome Chris Lee and Louise Welch from Outspoken Training to deliver Bikeability Balance to children in the Reception classes.  This has been made possible following the commitment from the Department for Transport to fund 10 Bikeability Plus modules from the £48.6 million budget for Bikeability.

  • Looking to a Brighter Future

    Bourne Westfield Primary Academy School Council representatives have been busy again!  They were very proud to present a cheque to ‘Brighter Futures’ for £94.75 raised from a Sparkle Day last term.  Brighter Futures is a Christian charity that provides help for sick and orphaned children in India to provide a springboard to restore health and self-sufficiency in their communities.   They decided to make this their Charity of the Year following a suggestion brought to them by a School Council member, and will be deciding on future events to raise further funds at their next meeting.
