    On Thursday 2nd March Bourne Westfield’s Headteacher Elaine Radley and Arts Director Rebecca Beavis attended the Mighty Creatives Gala Award Evening in Derby.  This was as a result of being shortlisted for the ‘Creative Learning Award’ which recognises creative school improvement, where children and young people are supported to achieve the highest level of education through imaginative and innovative teaching and learning. 

  • World Book Day Fun!

    Children at Bourne Westfield celebrated World Book Day last Thursday by dressing up in the theme of characters from Roald Dahl’s books.  Headteacher Elaine Radley commented “I’m so amazed by all the brilliant costumes this year. I think it’s the best year yet!”

  • Fun times for Year 5 at PGL

    On Monday 6th March Year 5 children from Bourne Westfield travelled to Caythorpe Activity Centre for two fun filled days of challenges, problem solving and new experiences. The children encountered a range of activities involving team work, communication, co-operation, supporting each other and negotiation.

    Bourne Westfield welcomed Jane Clare and Harry Pryor from the Co-op store at Elsea Park last Thursday to a special Key Stage 2 assembly to mark Fairtrade Fortnight.

  • Fundraising for Friends of Nyansakia

    The School Council at Bourne Westfield Primary Academy met recently with Terry Westwood, who is the co-founder of The Friends of Nyansakia, to discuss the work of the charity.  After this inspiring visit, the children felt that we as a school should do something to help this fantastic cause.  The School Council organised and presented an assembly to explain report on the struggles that the children of Nyansakia face and how different their lives are to their own.  They shared facts about Nyansakia and the school, and showed photographs that highlight the stark differences between our two schools. 

  • Big Lottery help pupils keep fighting fit.

    The return from the half term break saw Bourne Westfield pupils delighted in their new playground environments.  Thanks to a Big Lottery Fund grant and support from the Friends of Westfield the playgrounds are now the perfect place to play.  The vibrant markings enable children to follow trails or play fun games such as ‘What’s the time Mr Wolf’.

    Year 5 classes resembled Willy Wonka’s famous Chocolate Factory at Bourne Westfield when Chocolate Becky taught more than 90 children how to make their very own chocolate.
