Fundraising for Friends of Nyansakia

A fund raising event , via a non-uniform day, was held on 10th February with children coming to school dressed in the colours of the Kenyan flag for a small donation, which raised a whopping £533!  Headteacher, Elaine Radley presented the cheque to the charity, in a special celebration assembly earlier this week.

Year 6 teacher Katie Knott, school representative for Nyansakia commented “Children were so excited to learn about all of the wonderful things that the school’s donation would be used for and how it will help the children and teachers of the school. We look forward to doing more for this fantastic charity in the future.”

Martin McKenna, Trustee and Secretary of Friends of Nyansakia added “The Friends of Nyansakia are truly grateful for the wonderful donation of £533.33  raised by the children of Bourne Westfield Primary Academy. This effort will be truly appreciated by poor children in Nyansakia, North West Kenya. It will feed 800 children for several weeks at the Village School, allowing them to participate fully in their education. Well done everyone at Westfield!
