The Importance of CPR

The activity, kindly organised by governor John Freear, enabled children to receive a talk from one of the volunteers about how ‘minutes matter’ – this was followed by a question and answer session. Every child had the opportunity to practise their newly learnt skills, using resuscitation manikins, whilst the volunteers gave them advice about the correct technique to use. Deputy Headteacher, Kat Finch commented; ‘all of the teaching staff and children were enthused by their lesson and have learnt such valuable skills for life’. A year 3 child said; ‘I cannot wait to teach this to my mum and dad so that they know how to save someone’s life in an emergency too’.

‘Lives’ supports 700+ highly trained and dedicated volunteers to deliver fast vital care in those first critical moments of a medical emergency before handing over to the ambulance service.
