Inspirational Jade!

Monday 31st March will be a day we will never forget at Bourne Westfield Primary Academy when we were blessed by the visit of a truly inspirational sportswoman, Jade Etherington.  Jade arrived to a sea of smiling faces and cheerful waves when her classic Rolls Royce entered the playground and was presented with a posy by two of the schools future Olympic hopefuls from Mrs McCullough’s reception class.

As Jade entered the assembly hall, the school’s jazz band burst into action while other pupils stood in appreciation at the arrival of their local hero. Jade was interviewed by a group of budding young reporters from Miss Swanson’s Year 5 class.  One of their questions was “How would you describe your downhill race in three words” to which Jade replied “scary, exciting and fun!”

The school performed a number of songs including ‘Power in Me’ which Jade commented on and stated, “What a lovely song, it could have been my anthem. Thank you!”

Jade departed, to rapturous applause, leaving behind her a generation of inspired pupils who know that if they believe in themselves they can go on and achieve anything.
