Cross Country Camaraderie

Despite raining solidly through the night causing muddy and slippery conditions underfoot, Westfield had a fantastic turnout of 40 runners ready to take on the challenge. The course consisted of one loop of the large school playing field for runners in Years 3 and 4, with Years 5 and 6 completing a slightly longer course of one and a half laps. Year 3/4 boys, Year 3/4 girls and Year 5/6 boys took 1st place overall with Year 5/6 girls coming in 2nd overall, beaten only by Deeping St James Primary School.

Comradeship was rife as younger and older members of Bourne Westfield jogged alongside their team mates to offer support and encouragement whilst recovering from or preparing for their own races.

Bourne Westfield representative, Emma Mallett commented, "The children gave their all, with fantastic support from their team mates and parents. Special mention must go to Maddie Latter, Lea Graham, Jack Sutton, Noah Henderson and Alex Glenn-Mitchell who held their own on the field and received well deserved medals. Also to Emma Gough who ran outstandingly well and proved what a fantastic runner she is! Westfield are very excited to return next year and hopefully prove ourselves once again!"
