  • We Remember ...

    Children at Bourne Westfield Primary Academy spent the week in the run up Remembrance Sunday immersed in learning about the centenary of the end of World War One.  Poems were written, art work was completed and drama was performed.  Mr Bostock, a year 3 teacher, even had the children outside completing drill exercises and imagining what life would have been like in a trench.  The children reflected on how events in history have shaped our country, why it is important to remember the conflicts from the past and how they have affected people’s lives.   They were also mindful that many people still live within conflict today.

     

  • School Sports Day

    Bourne Westfield pupils from Reception to Year 6 have enjoyed showing off their sporting ability to proud parents during their sports days in recent weeks! The warm and sunny weather saw the field full of family members cheering on the side line whilst children completed their events with great enthusiasm from all involved!  Team activities allowed for some healthy competition.

     

  • School Council Initiative

    Our school council have been working very hard throughout the year to raise funds to add to our school chicken population. In addition to running cake stalls and games at the Christmas and summer fairs they have been very industrious organising and running a staff car wash under the watchful eye of Angela Pinchin, our School Council organiser.

    Bourne Westfield was alight with excitement last week when the Year 2 children staged their very own ‘Great Fire’.

     

  • World Book Day Fun

    Children at Bourne Westfield finally celebrated World Book Day last Friday after it was delayed when the Beast from the East arrived. Children dressed following the theme of characters from traditional tales and fairy stories.  Headteacher Elaine Radley commented “I’m so amazed by all the brilliant costumes this year. I think it’s the best year yet!”

     

  • County Cup Finalists

    We were delighted to see our Year 5/6 Football Team qualify for the County Cup Final on Saturday 24th February in Skegness. The tournament involved all of the winners of the previous rounds and the standard of football was high.
