Implementation

At Bourne Westfield, Discovery RE is used to teach RE. This is an enquiry approach, and each unit begins with a ‘big question.’ The concepts taught are:

Special people
Creation
Incarnation
Salvation
Belonging
Community
Prayer and worship
Beliefs and practices.

These key concepts underpin learning in each year group. This enables pupils to reinforce and build upon prior learning, make connections and develop subject specific language.
