  • A Little Bit of Magic!

    Something magical happened for Year 6 at Bourne Westfield last week.  The first indication that something was about to happen was when individually addressed envelopes ‘flew’ through the windows accompanied by what sounded like the call of owls.    Upon opening the envelopes, children gasped in amazement to find a letter confirming their acceptance at Hogwarts accompanied by a train ticket for the Hogwarts Express leaving Platform 9¾.  The arrival of letters signalled the start of an amazing adventure that the children would later capture in writing across a variety of genres.  Of course, before proceeding to Hogwarts the very next day, the afternoon was devoted to ‘whittling’ their wands, capitalising on the Forest School teaching of previous years.

  • Settling in Nicely!

    Reception children at Bourne Westfield Primary Academy have been settling in really well, learning school routines and making new friends. The children have enjoyed having school lunches for the first time, playing in the outdoor area- especially the climbing frame and listening to stories, singing and sharing news about themselves and their families.

  • Walking with Dinosaurs

    Year 3 pupils at Bourne Westfield had a very ‘eggciting’ first week back at school. On Tuesday 6th September, a strange egg was found near the school playground.  On further investigation it transpired that Miss Atkinson, senior deputy Headteacher at the school, had witnessed a Tyrannosaurus Rex stomping across the playground a short time later.

  • Arts Week 2016

  • Year 6 visit Duxford

    On Wednesday 8th June, Year 6 visited the Imperial War Museum at Duxford in support of their history studies of ‘Twentieth Century Conflicts’ and as an inspiration for children’s writing in the explanation genre.
