Train to Teach

Bourne Westfield Primary Academy is excited to be recruiting the teachers of the future.  In conjunction with The Deepings School, Bourne Westfield will be leading the SCITT in the south of the county.  Kate Atkinson, Senior Deputy, commented, ‘It’s a really exciting time for the school and other schools in south Lincolnshire as we are looking for graduates to be the teachers of tomorrow’.

Candidates have been applying through UCAS since October and there are over twenty schools in the local area who will be hosting trainees in September 2016.  There are still training places available for graduates who may be interested in a rewarding career in teaching.  Apply online via UCAS searching

for The Deepings or contact Kate Atkinson on 01778 424152 for more details.

After qualifying, teachers are continually supported through the induction process.  Newly Qualified Teacher Tilly Judd commented, “The support and continued training that I have received during my NQT year has been fantastic. Bourne Westfield’s welcoming and encouraging environment has enabled me to question and observe through the school to be able to develop my own teaching practice. The regular training sessions have provided a brilliant network of local NQTs that we can share ideas through.”
