Out of this World!

Visiting the National Space Centre is part of the schools Science and English curriculum, the children will be using the trip as not only a fact finding activity to support knowledge and understanding of the universe but also as an inspiration for writing recounts.  The five key areas of the centre enabled the children to explore and learn for themselves through interactive displays and activities.

Year 5 teacher, Gillian Goodwin, commented ”Learning outside the classroom is very important, the children are discovering new things all of the time in the space centre and they take control of their own learning. When we get back to school we collate all of the information and use the day as a spring board for our lessons. It was a great day, lots of fun and very worthwhile.”
