In order to better appreciate cultural diversity, the children were then given a special talk by their Portuguese dinner lady, Sandra Allen, sporting the Portuguese football strip and were given an opportunity to ask questions, such as ‘Is it hotter in Portugal than in England?.  This was followed by a beautiful recital of a poem in Romanian by Year 6 pupil - Theodora Barsan.   Four more children then greeted the school in Spanish, Chinese and Tamil, wearing beautiful traditional costumes:  2 Chinese dresses brought in by Jamie Lau; a Spanish Flamenco dress worn by Sophia Leaton and a traditional dress worn by Sree Ramesh-Shankar from Year 4 who also taught them how to count in Tamil.  The assembly ended with all of the children singing a traditional African lullaby.
