Year 4 pupils at Bourne Westfield Academy have travelled back thousands of years in time to the era of the Egyptian pharaohs.
Led by a special guest for the day, children learned about many of the traditions of the ancient civilisation. They painted hieroglyphics, made replicas of artefacts found in Egyptian tombs and took part in a drama to learn about the boy-pharaoh Tutankhamun and his father Aktenaten.
Year 4 teacher, Paul Clark, commented, “Children were dressed as pharaohs such as Tutankhamun and Cleopatra, and had a fabulous time exploring the way that Ancient Egyptians lived. It was a great way to encourage their interest in history and learn about Egypt at the same time.”
