Amazing Year 6 Art

Published: 10th January 2023

The children in Year 6 at Bourne Westfield, had an immersive day studying the life and works of William Morris as a part of their Victorian topic. They learnt about the way in which he worked and how this media enabled art to become more accessible for all. As part of the day, the children also learnt about the work of Barron and Larcher who used the same techniques as Morris.  Using venn diagrams they compared the artists’ work. They then used printing techniques to produced reduction prints of their own.

Year 6 teacher, Katie Knott, commented, “The results were impressive and they were amazed at the outcome. A great day was had by all.”
