Arts Week 2023

Published: 25th July 2023

Arts week 2023 - what a week we had! Our school was alive with art: rapping, drama, poetry, performance and celebration. Everyone embraced the creative arts during another very successful Arts Week at Bourne Westfield! We were extremely fortunate and grateful for the support of so many professional artistic partners and children loved the diverse range of art and skills. Arts Week 2023 brought opportunities to explore and celebrate 'Individuality', our theme this year linked to the British Value of Individual Liberty. The week’s finale was an exhibition in the school hall at the end of the day, where children shared their learning and creativity with friends and family - a great way to finish a fabulous week!

Arts Director, Rebecca Beavis, commented, “We are so lucky to have such a fabulous school community and such a gifted and passionate staff team.  Thank you to all of the people who volunteered on Arts Week trips, came into school to help with workshops and donated resources.  We are grateful to so many people for partnering with us to provide children with amazing opportunities to experience inspirational workshops. We were delighted to have been able to work closely with Bourne Academy and Bourne Grammar School and would like to give particular thanks to Lucy Lawson for sharing her expertise, talent and passion for the whole week.

Headteacher, Kate Atkinson, added, “Arts Week could not happen at all without Miss Beavis’ hard work and planning. The co-ordination of such a week is no mean feat; Miss Beavis always does an amazing job and this year was no exception.”
