Christmas Fair 2023

Published: 5th December 2023

The Christmas season got off to a good start last Friday when the Friends of Westfield hosted the school’s Christmas Fair - the first since 2019.

Visitors flocked through the doors in search of festive fun raising £2,500 for the Friends of Westfield to support the school.  The school choir and Year 2 bucket drummers entertained and visitors enjoyed the many stalls that provided everything from games to crafts to food and drink.  Children searched for Santa and followed the Candy Cane trail to crack the secret code.

Headteacher Kate Atkinson, commented, “It was lovely to open our school for a Christmas Fair this year. There was such a community feel around school and this opportunity to celebrate

Christmas together is one we all really enjoy and look forward to.  The Friends of Westfield do such an amazing job.”

Event lead organisers, Amanda Nightingale and Jo Challinor, added “We are really delighted that such a fantastic amount was raised at the Christmas Fair.  All monies raised provide additional resources for children at the school and parents, staff and children are so supportive of the events throughout the year.  Our events are very much a joint venture and we are grateful to everyone involved - from setting up to putting away and of course those who attended and helped us raise such a fantastic amount.  Not forgetting the many local companies who continue to support us.”
