Crumble Controlling

Published: 8th March 2023

Bourne Westfield pupils were wowed by their computer control DT work last week.  Mr Delport, from Bourne Grammar School, supported the Year 6 teachers in delivering a fantastic STEM project based on Crumble Controllers. The children worked in teams to build a tank and used CAD software to design bodies for the tanks.  Pupils commented on how much they enjoyed the day, particularly the building of the tank and connecting the control board.

Mr Perrin, Deputy Headteacher, commented, ‘We are so grateful to Mr Delport and the Grammar School for supporting this project.  Their expertise made the delivery so much easier, and I know that the children got such a lot from the day.  They were all so excited when their tanks moved, and the sensors and programming worked!’
