As part of their farming topic, the Reception children have learned about farming in Lincolnshire and have discussed the different foods they eat that are grown locally in Lincolnshire. To follow this the children visited Dan’s Fruit and Veg stall at Bourne Market. Every child selected and paid for their own piece of fruit or a chosen vegetable and were able to take it home.
EYFS Teacher, Catherine Bull, commented, “The children were so excited to do their own shopping and the visit generated lots of discussion about where our food come from - from field to fork. We are very grateful to Dan for allowing the children the opportunity to explore his stall and choose something to bring back to school.”
The children are now looking forward to their visit to Great Wood Farm, where they hope to see some lambs being born.
