Last week, 18 pupils from Years 5 and 6 at Bourne Westfield took part in the annual inter-school netball competition - the event was run by Agilitas Sports, with the help of the sports leaders from Spalding High School.
Both Bourne Westfield teams were entered in the competitive competition, which consisted of 6 teams playing each other, in a round robin format. One of the most exciting matches was Westfield verses Westfield with the ‘A’ team just clinching victory with a late goal to win 4/3. At the end of the matches, three schools were on equal points having all won 4 out of their 5 matches. Goal difference was necessary to place the top 3, which saw Westfield ‘A’ team came home with the trophy with a goal difference of 24; the B team were pipped to the silver medal position by Langtoft ‘A’ team with a goal difference of 14 to their 12.
PE Teacher, Hannah Anderson, commented, “Well done to all our players who played with such good sporting values; their teamwork, determination, fair play alongside such fantastic netball skills made me very proud. They were a credit to Westfield and the Westy Way!”
