Bourne Westfield was alight with excitement on the final day of term when the Year 2 children staged their very own ‘Great Fire’.
Children created their own Pudding Lane made up of model houses on the school field. The excitement started when the blaze begain in the bakery. Although slow to start, the fire soon took hold and spread from house to house, just as it would have in 1666. 20 minutes later, most of the street was nothing more than a pile of smouldering cinders.
The children enjoyed singing several renditions of London’s Burning. It was an incredible experience and certainly a highlight of the year for the children.
