Year 4 were incredibly fortunate to receive a visit from one of our parents this week. We are studying textiles for our Art unit this term and Mrs Saunders generously gave her time to talk to the children about forging a successful career in textile design.
She talked to us about her degree and then blew us away with her passion and knowledge when explaining the design and manufacture process. Children enjoyed handling a variety of yarn types and seeing pictures of the industrial weaving machines used to manufacture socks. They were able to draw comparisons between these and the hand looms they learned about when studying Saxons and had an inspiring and exciting afternoon.
Thank you, Mrs Saunders!
