At the end of last term Year 6 were visited by a 'Victorian' teacher. The children got in to the spirit of things and came to school dressed as Victorian children (some complete with grubby faces). The day started with the register and children answered with their new names! Then, into the hall to meet Mr Murphey to learn all about discipline and punishment. Some unfortunate souls were put in finger stocks and even caned!
The children then went to class and wrote on slates, used quill pens and ink; followed by the three 'Rs'.
The rest of the day was spent playing Victorian games, looking at and identifying artefacts and some scrapbooking - which the children loved. The day closed with everyone coming together to sing the National Anthem - God Save our Queen whilst waving our homemade Union Jack flags.
