Last Wednesday, 16 pupils from Year 5 at Bourne Westfield travelled to Market Deeping Cricket Club to play in a competitive Dynamos cricket competition.
With two teams competing, the Sharks and the Warriors, the teams really got the ‘cricket bug’ and improved across all areas, showing some fantastic batting, teamwork and fielding.
The Warriors lost 2 games (drew 1 and won 1), coming 3rd overall whilst the Sharks only lost 1 game to the winners of the tournament, coming 2nd overall.
PE teacher, Hannah Anderson, commented, “The children played so well and thoroughly enjoyed their day. The Sharks were really impressive, especially as they went down to 7 players when fielding due to an injury. Well done to all the pupils involved, you represented Westfield beautifully.”
